I can relate so much with what you have said. When I was first published in the Ascent, I was expecting something unreal to happen, but no, nothing wild happened.

Similarly the first time I got an article curated, I expected it to go viral, it didn't.

As you said, good content is rewarded irrespective of if it was published in a small publication, written in only 10 minutes or anything else.

It takes guts to admit that you don't read the work of other writers. Your point makes sense, it gets easy to start comparing when you do that.
