While I get your intention Tony, I personally think "too many" publications can blur the difference between publications and individual writers themselves.

I think there's a sweet spot between too many and too few (as was the case with broad publications before).

I also think there's no need to put Better Programming on hiatus to make "space" for other publications - I think there's ample space for both broad and niche publications in the new ecosystem.

Or do you see Medium pivoting or leaning more onto niche hyper-focused publications in favor of broader ones?
