That’s an extremely valid question and the answer to it is hard. It comes from accepting the fact that our education systems are outdated. To be honest there are other forces at play. The present school system is perfect to produce modern-day workers, which is something desired by society.

This is the reason I suspect there hasn’t been any change all these years. To be honest, more and more people are becoming aware of this as this is evident from the rise in homeschooling, encouraging extracurricular and out of the box activities, etc.

The change will be gradual. I can do my bit by trying to bring awareness. When awareness spreads, it will lead to action and as to learning not for learning’s sake, the only reason is that the world still values grades and not skills.

Once we start valuing skills over grades and bring more and more awareness, a change will happen gradually
