Man I relate DEEPLY with this.
One of the greatest blessings I have is staying home - with my darling mother. I've often told her - she's a mother, daughter, friend, entertainment, confidante, and a source of pure love all rolled into one.
But she was a confusing juxtaposition of affection and traumatic terror when I was younger - with age, once she realized I can handle all my stuff (and the family's stuff), a beautiful new relationship emerged.
I am surprised that I wasn't surprised enough by this transition - and took it for granted. Only this article shook me aware to it.
