I'd disagree. There are TONS of applications already developed and new usecases coming out every single day.
These "generic LLMs" are able to diagnose 1 in 100000 cases, aid the blind, and solve many more real life problems.
Coming to porn, ethically sourced or not, is destructive - multiple studies and anecdotes point to the fact that it's pure poison for the brain, especially for men.
Netflix, Instagram and all leach your dopamine levels and reduce motivation/energy to tackle real-world problems.
Sure, in controlled moderation they might be "ok" but they are designed to be addictive.
Even 1 hour of using ChatGPT definitely beats 15 minutes of Netflix, porn, or other general "timepass" tools.
Coming to your point of caution, yes I agree, caution needs to be exercised and overdependence can be a thing.
