I had monthly and weekly goals in the earlier stages of my writing journey - but no longer do.
I am now focusing on quality over quantity - but I still have monthly minimums so I don't get so caught up in perfecting pieces that I never publish them.
Also thanks a lot Prakriti - karma or not, I want other writers to win - writing online is a win-win game.
Coming to pre-planning, I'm not sure because I almost never "plan" my articles - I wait for ideas "to come" - and the ideas I capture usually more than suffice for my articles.
But in the beginning, pre-planning and brainstorming for ideas might help.
Coming to planning, it's usually 5-10 minutes max per article - to sketch out a rough flow. The writing is usually an hour to 90 minutes max.
It's the editing that goes from 2 to even 6 hours sometimes
