I agree with most of what you say. Purely rational decisions aren't as rosy as they are made out to be.
The human brain uses mechanisms such as heuristics and biases just to make the easy decisions easy. Without feelings and emotions, we would struggle with the smallest of decisions thanks to the large number of factors that the "rational" brain takes into consideration.
Being aware of our feelings, emotions and biases while making important decisions lets us be more rational and take better decisions.
