Hey Michael! I haven't read any of Toni Morrison's books but I've added the ones you've mentioned to my reading list.

As to Kite, even among the ones I've read, there are FAR better ones from a literary perspective, like Fyodor's Crime And Punishment, Golding's Lord Of The Flies, and a lot of other fantasy novels - LOTR, Warbreaker, ASOIAF (GoT books)

BUT, the title is If I could read only 7 books for the rest of my life, so the book needs to be rereadable many times.

And I've found kite runner to be a good reread. This is by no means a list of the 7 best books I've ever read. If that were the case, I wouldn't have included many of the present ones in the article
